The A/SF-01 B-wing bomber, commonly refered to as the B-wing, is a bomber for the New Republic in Star Wars: Squadrons. It was added alongside the TIE Defender in Update 4.0.

Description[edit | edit source]

"The B-wing is a true blockade buster deployed by the New Republic. While it hardly stands on its own in a one-on-one against a dogfight specialist, its integrated ion cannons supplement the equipped primary weapon, helping to whittle down enemy shields and subsystems. A novel gyroscopic cockpit design permits the B-wing to deploy its larger capacity bomb payloads in multiple directions relative to the cockpit."

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The B-wing is the only starfighter in the game that has both laser cannons and ion cannons at the same time.
  • There are also two components exclusive to the B-wing: the Gyro/Aux Control Module, which allows the player to rotate the ship's body around the cockpit, and the Composite Ion Beam.

Behind the Scenes[edit | edit source]

The B-wing first appeared in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, directed by Richard Marquand.
