The TIE/IN interceptor, also referred to simply as the TIE Interceptor, is an interceptor for the Galactic Empire in Star Wars: Squadrons.[1]

Description[]

"The TIE interceptor is the lightest, fastest, and most responsive starfighter in space. It can use its high acceleration and turn rates to outmaneuver an enemy fighter, evade missiles, and dodge incoming cannon fire from capital ship turrets. This manoeuvrability is essential, because while it is the fastest, it is also the most fragile – sacrificing armor and shields for speed and agility. The TIE interceptor is an excellent choice for taking out enemy fighters and bombers, and for strafing turrets and subsystems on capital ships. The TIE interceptor is, however, not likely to put much of a dent in a capital ship's hull."[1]

Overview[]

Main article: Interceptor

The TIE Interceptor is the smallest and fastest ship in the Imperial lineup, specializing in chasing down enemy starfighters. The TIE Interceptor has the lowest total health of any starfighter in Squadrons at 775. It makes up for this by being extremely quick, with the highest max speed, acceleration, and maneuverability in the game, and having a very small frame. The TIE Interceptor deals high damage to enemy starfighters, but can't go up against Capital Ships due to its low health.
